Job Description

The IT Support Technician is primarily responsible to provide front-line help desk support, including on-site support, phone support, as well as remote support and support for remote offices. The main responsibilities are:

  • Provide technical support to local users, remote users from other offices, and home based employees, using the IT ServiceDesk applications to track and monitor user needs;
  • Responsible for user client setup, asset monitoring, software deployments, etc., using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM);
  • Responsible for specifying, ordering and configuration of new hardware and software;
  • Support MS Office applications, Windows applications, and other software as needed;
  • Support mobile devices user (iPhones & Android Phones);
  • Promote the Andritz standards in regards to hardware and software use;
  • Perform other tasks that may be required.

Job Requirements

  • College or associate degree in the field of computer science or computer information systems and minimum five (5) years of experience as a support technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 / 2016 ;
  • Basic experience with Microsoft SCCM;
  • Experience with virtual environment (VM Ware) – preferred;
  • Strong customer service orientation;
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic work environment;
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written;
  • Bilingual - fluency in French & English languages.


Other requirements:

  • Available for occasional travel;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • Office based position and normal working hours are 8AM-5PM;
  • Occasional after hours, weekend, and on call duties may be required.
