Job Description

  • Develop and maintain a staff of highly trained, versatile and motivated employees capable of meeting quality standards and delivery schedules. Must coordinate all production activities, minimize downtime, and maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure the timely delivery of Customer orders to the agreed delivery dates
  • Oversee the purchase of materials, tools, and equipment necessary to   maintain/improve quality, productivity and efficiency of Service Centre
  • Drive the company's Key Performance Indicators regarding Safety, Quality, Deliveries, Costs and Morale
  • Ensure established Service Center best practices are followed
  • Communicate regularly with subordinates, division management, and appropriate employees
  • Review and manage departmental budgets, analyze and determine future capital investment needs
  • Determine the sites capacity needs and ensure that the appropriate staffing is available
  • Preparation of reports for local and divisional management
  • Limited travel mainly for budget meetings and seminars

Job Requirements

  • BS or Associate Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing, technical field, Logistics Management, or a combination of related discipline, education and experience required
  • 10 plus years in progressively responsible experience in manufacturing or service related background in machining, fabrication, materials procurement, and capital planning preferred
  • Prior experience working with Union Labor required
  • Prior Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations preferred
  • Must be a self starter with a high degree of initiative and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to lead a team of skilled employees
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude is required
  • Must possess solid communication skills with all levels of personnel and outside organizations
  • Must have high level of assertiveness tempered with appropriate use of tact and diplomacy.
