Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Receive verbal and written information from Cleaner Engineering Manager, Director of Cleaning Technology, Sales Area Managers, Cleaner Group Supervisors, and Regional Product Managers. Use information to produce new and revised cleaner header/canister systems designs, cleaner products, tooling, fixture drawings, and other associated drawings required for product and manufacturing engineering. Other functions include maintain engineering product standards, BOM maintenance, document management, incoming part inspection, quality documentation, and maintenance of product information for the sales force and customer service visits.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Responsibilities include but are not limited to): Utilize Inventor and Vault to create, revise, migrate, and maintain new models and/or drawings (recent/marked-up) using photos, sketches, and/or verbal instructions in a quick and accurate manner. Convert older format drawings to Inventor / Vault files, enter BOM’s, and prepare drawing packages for manufacturing, all in accordance with Andritz and industry standards. Must update and maintain Andritz Docupedia pages; utilize SAP to gather information, reports, migrate items, and drawings from Vault; assist in creating and maintaining Product Quality Inspection Plan (PQIPs); advise appropriate personnel (director, supervisors and/or Engineering Manager) of conflicts that would cause delay design schedule, and perform measurements to document “as-built” cleaner system. Coordinate the completion of assignments with Sales and Product Managers as well as with customers on service visits and product development activities. Travel (Domestic & Internationally) is required in order to perform on-site service as well as gather information to create accurate cleaner system designs.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Highly Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Drafting / Design / Mechanical Engineering and some experience in Pulp & Paper Manufacturing along with prior experience with similar industrial equipment particularly fluid flow equipment; familiarity with welded fabrications, mechanical and structural designs highly preferred; proficiency with AutoCad, Autodesk Vault, and SAP also highly preferred. Required: Associates in Drafting / Design / Mechanical Engineering and/or equal experience with a high degree of mechanical aptitude. Must be proficient with Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) in order to create presentations and communicate efficiently. Use of inspection equipment including but not limited to dial calipers, CMM’s, Faro Arms, micrometers, and tape measures. General willingness to continuously learn and improve; ability to think logically and methodically in order to apply problem-solving strategies; possess excellent knowledge of the English language/grammar. This position requires well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure in time sensitive environments. The ability to communicate effectively, at all levels, both verbally and in writing is essential. Other requirements to include: Represent Company interests when dealing with customers, knowledge of the Andritz organization, procedures, and product standards, possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and work both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Must be self-motivated, versatile, flexible, able to make independent decisions, and sensitive to customer satisfaction (includes understanding customers’ needs and possess a strong sense of urgency). Must be able to work with little to no supervision, learn and retain multiple skills and tasks, have a cooperative attitude to interface with all levels and departments inside / outside of the Company. Must regard confidentiality at all times.

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Majority of work is performed in an air-conditioned/heated office environment however, occasional visits to manufacturing facilities is required. These facilities may be dusty, dirty with varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels, contain heavy-duty magnets, welding machines, and manual & remote controlled devices using radio signals, and exposure to fumes. Candidate required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, ascend/descend stairs, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally (all with or without accommodations). Must possess solid visual acuity, hearing and touch. Good mobility is required in order to travel for customer visits. Position requires work be conducted in a safe and efficient manner at all times, to include wearing necessary PPE.
