Job Description

Our Automation Solutions division has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to provide design, engineering, and technical support on a wide variety of projects for our customers. Based in Pensacola, FL, this position would be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high quality, innovative engineering solutions that improves plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
  • Design and commission industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, and cable and raceway sizing and layouts.
  • Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
  • Design and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.

Job Requirements

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in industrial automation engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally entitled to work in the United States
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Pulp & Paper industry experience
  • Consulting engineering experience
  • Commissioning, construction, and start-up experience
  • Proficiency with any of the following platforms: Honeywell Experion, Foxboro I/A, Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Ignition, Modicon, Wonderware, and/or Rockwell ControlLogix
