Job Description

The Field Engineering Manager is responsible for effective planning of sites operations. As such he is responsible for sites preparation regarding budget, schedule, and technical planning of the various site teams. This position is based in the Andritz office in Pointe-Claire with visits at our various project sites, as needed.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage installation coordinator team:
    • Responsible for projects assignment;
    • Ensures deliverables are met:
      • Reviews and adapts schedule, budget, tooling plans, manpower plans, etc.;
      • Ensure staff plan is well communicated and coordinated;
      • Follows-up with sites to ensure understanding and adherence to plan;
      • Leads scope definition and selection of subcontractors, when applicable.
    • Ensure advanced planning is performed to secure strong execution;
  • Manage Field Engineering team: enhance installation excellence by overseeing preparation of comprehensive pre-installation packages and through continuous technical support during the project execution phase;
    • On-time / on-quality installation manuals;
    • Timely technical support;
    • Site technical processes/procedures standardization and improvements;
    • Design for Installation / Design reviews;
    • Site tooling design;
    • Technical training.
  • Oversee Site Testing and Commissioning team;
  • Coordinates and provides support to the proposal team;
  • Manage small service coordinators & supervisors.

Job Requirements


  • Five to ten (5 to 10) years of experience in hydro-electric turbines and generator installation;
  • Solid understanding of quality, safety and technical aspects of hydroelectric projects in Canada;
  • Strong leadership;
  • Strong French and English proficiency, both oral and written;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team work skills and autonomy;
  • Ability to travel to sites for short and medium periods.
