Job Description

Our Automation Solutions division has an immediate opportunity for an Intermediate Process Control Engineer to provide design, engineering, and technical support on a wide variety of projects for our customers. Based in Richmond, BC, this position is responsible for control system design, from the conception of the design through to commissioning, while establishing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Configure DCS and PLC systems on various platforms
  • Design control system architecture and networks including equipment specification
  • Design control strategies and implement technology to optimize performance
  • Produce clear and concise control system narratives using written documents and other various means
  • Solve control system networking, communication, and interface problems
  • Troubleshoot entire systems including mechanical, electrical, and software components
  • Provide commissioning and start-up support for the completed control applications

Job Requirements

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronic, or computer engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in industrial control system troubleshooting, design, and configuration
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with EGBC
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international locations

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Proficiency with Ignition and Rockwell ControlLogix
  • Fluent and literate in both English and French
  • Database proficiency
  • Consulting engineering experience
  • Instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting
  • Commissioning, construction, and start-up experience
