Job Description

Take overall responsibility for projects related to customer orders, engineering research and/or development of designs of Andritz Paperchine products and related components. Liaise with customers, external contractors and/or internal Paperchine departments to ensure accurate, on-time and in budget completion of project (s).

 Machinery design functions including the production of AutoCAD or Inventor drawings as appropriate for the development of unique designs and application of Andritz Paperchine products and product configurations. Products will incorporate heavy steel fabricated components as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical technologies.  Based on product / customer requirements, and as directed by the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager conducts design investigations and engineering calculations related to alternate design approaches, alternative technologies, component redesigns, alternate suppliers, etc. on assigned projects.  Works independently to select and evaluate components, hardware and materials necessary to meet project design and financial requirements. 


Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Layout, application drawings, scope and order acceptance.
  • Internal kick-off meeting.
  • Main customer interaction / liaison.
  • Keeping track of payment milestones with inside sales.
  • Tracking and reporting schedule relative to plan and promised ship date (monthly).
  • Attends and supervises installation with representatives from Service and/or Engineering.
  • As needed:  detailed post order layout, and production drawings.
  • As needed:  Mechanical and Engineering service.
  • Works independently with sales representatives and customers by phone and at customer site to measure, install, troubleshoot and evaluate Andritz Paperchine products.
  • Global travel time:  20 to 40%
  • Complies with all company guidelines, safety program, quality program, rules and regulations

Job Requirements

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent education & 5-8 years’ experience
  • Competent ACAD & Inventor skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical reference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratio and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
