Job Description

Reporting directly to the Sales & Operations Manager for the automation product line (AT), the incumbent will be responsible of the proposal preparation and negotiation of final contract with clients.



 

Principal Duties

 

  • Manage the preparation of proposals related to the AT product line which might include also offers related to small parts & services.       This shall include proposals related to direct or indirect (internal) sales;
  • In accordance with the client’s specifications, understand the scope of work and the terms & conditions in order to coordinate the work required to meet the contractual obligations;
  • Understand and target client needs in order to develop and propose a winning proposal strategy and best solutions that meets client requirements and expectations;
  • Lead and coordinate internally all the activities related to the preparation of proposals together with the departments involved, including technical, commercial & legal explanations and exceptions;
  • Challenge the internal team on proposed solutions and costs;
  • Act as the main point of contact with client at the time of proposal preparation, clarification and final negotiations;
  • Respect the approval process for internal and external bids;
  • Maintain the sales database up to date.

Job Requirements

Skills and competencies

 

  • Bachelor of science in electrical engineering or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and/or marketing in hydro power generation or similar industry (energy production equipment);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering control systems/protection or electrical power within the hydro or similar industry;
  • Demonstrated success in winning orders and building relationships with customers in a similar environment;
  • Demonstrated success in sales and closing sales;
  • Effective negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and contractual specifications;
  • Knowledge of the technical specifications of control, protection, excitation & speed control products and medium voltage equipment;
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, ambitious, creative and innovative person;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: easily collaborates with others;
  • Result oriented;
  • Willing to travel occasionally, mainly across Canada;
  • Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written).
