Job Description

Our Chambly office specializes in automation and electrical power. Our mandates generally cover engineering services, product supply, installation and commissioning of equipment. The selected candidate will cover a wide range of project scopes from rehabilitation of existing systems to new generating stations.


As a member of the Protections & Controls Team, the main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Be responsible for the assigned project designs including preparation of key documents such as protection and control schematics, cable lists and parts bills in respect of project technical specifications;
  • Review and seal off technical documentation developed under his/her supervision;
  • Participate in design review meetings with the client;
  • Supervise the development of the required documents for the manufacturing of the control cabinets;
  • Prepare and document test procedures and system validation;
  • Develop relay settings study, tripping logic and associated settings files;
  • Perform relay injection testing during factory and site acceptance testing;
  • Provide technical support to the proposal team in preparing technical documentation and drawings for bids;
  • Prepare technical specifications and support the purchasing process by participating in the selection, negotiations and technical discussions with suppliers and sub-contractors ;
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of hydro-electric generators and related electrical equipment at work site;
  • Work on multiple projects and meet schedule deliverables;
  • Participate in program initiatives aimed at reducing direct and indirect design costs.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering – (Member of the OIQ);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Experience in designing electrical systems , relay programming and injection testing – an asset;
  • Experience in hydro power generation – an asset;
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details;
  • Proven ability in analyzing and solving technical problems;
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ePlan - an asset;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (ex. Project, Excel, Word, etc.);
  • Willing to travel occasionally, mainly across Canada;
