Job Description

The Scheduler will ensure schedules follow company and industry standards, are complete and meet business objectives. Possessing experience in large hydro, industrial or construction industry is an asset. The candidate must be articulate and able to work with the different groups and levels within the business.

  



PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Alignment of project schedule and project execution plans;
  • Collecting data progress updates, applying progress to schedules, re-forecasting resource requirements and achievement of milestones;
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules through regular communication with the project team and construction management teams;
  • Ensuring that all schedules and planning databases are aligned;
  • Assisting in the development of option analysis for project scope and execution plans;
  • Providing support for project schedule development, including support for schedule risk analysis;
  • Ensuring proper integration of all project schedules (L1 to L4);
  • Assist the lead planner to conduct schedule impact analysis;
  • Defining the critical and sub-critical path activities, communicating them to the project team;
  • Liaise with EVM (earned value management) specialists for proper integration of schedule progress and EVM metrics;
  • Contribute to manpower review and planning;
  • Contribute to the implementation of best practices and standards to ensure integrity of data and quality of output;
  • May be required to work turnaround when needed and to audit field progress as required.

Job Requirements



COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Diploma in Engineering, Management or equivalent with a focus on project planning and scheduling;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of scheduling experience in an enterprise application (Primavera P6);
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in managing schedules for large industrial/construction projects;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to clearly communicate, deliver presentations, simplify, explain variances and issues to a team and propose solutions;
  • Experience working with Excel databases;
  • Computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite;
  • Short assignments requires traveling.
